Nakagin Tower

An as yet unfinished personal project. Nakagin Tower in Tokyo was always one of my favourite buildings. It was such an innovative concept with a striking look, that unfortunately didn’t work on a practical level.  I was saddened when I heard it was being demolished, and thought it would be interesting to visualise possible uses for the pods that make up the structure. Some ideas feel quite practical, others a little more creative!

My goal with the project was to produce a film that finds a use for all 140 pods, and use it as a test bed for experimenting with different software and plugins. I also wanted to creatively link each concept together, with interesting camera movements and clever editing.
